Not far from the centre of Tignes le Lac, this cosy apartment is perfectly suited for a small family or couple longing for a getaway in the French Alps. This isn't your typical mountain lodge – the hide rugs, fur throws, bright blue sofa and rustic panelling are more boho-chic than elegant ski chalet. We love the view from the balcony, which overlooks the ski run and shows off those snow-covered peaks. On warmer days, it's a great spot to relax with a cup of tea or a glass of wine. Though small, you can easily make breakfast in the kitchen before a busy day. During the spring and summer, hiking is one of the main attractions, while snow-sure skiing makes this a bustling winter destination. The ski lift is only a ten-minute walk, or for a change of pace, hop on the free bus to visit the other villages in Tignes. In the evenings, unwind with some bubbly on the plush couch before dining at one of the tasty restaurants in the resort.
