It's harder to get much closer to the piste than this modern apartment in Sölden. Sat directly on the Giggijoch slopes, the home is perfect for strapping on your skis, snowboard, or walking boots and heading off on a day's adventure in Austria's mountains. Your reward when you return is a chic take on an Alpine lodge, with wooden floors and wall panels and slabs of grey granite mirroring the colours of the peaks. The living area is perfect for snuggling up, with a long communal bench sofa and dining table for quick lunches before venturing out again. Thanks to its position, the plot has some of the best views around – push open the French doors and head out to the balcony to check conditions.
