When Ildefons Cerdà designed the Eixample district, natural light, efficiency and liveability were at the heart of his plans. The owners of this gorgeous neighbourhood apartment have certainly done Cerdà proud. Once you step through the door, you’ll want to move in for good. Everything is taken care of – from the well-equipped wood-and-rattan kitchen to the self-irrigated house plants, living here couldn’t be easier. Each room has been expertly curated with a mixture of modern designs and unique pieces, inspired by worldwide travels and sourced from local artisans. The Catalan touches are particularly special: we love the ornate tiles, intricate ceiling mouldings and stained glass windows. Grab a morning pastry from the bakery just around the corner and savour it on the balcony overlooking the leafy Gran Via. After you’ve caught up on emails in the dedicated workspace, head out into the city. There’s an endless number of things to do on your doorstep and the Urgell metro station is just five minutes down the road, connecting you to the rest of Barcelona.
