The majestic jewel tones scattered throughout this split-level apartment in Earls Court really caught our eye – and thank goodness they did, because this place is a real gem. Traditional architectural features sit playfully alongside modern fittings to create a home-from-home where you can really settle in. You'll love the striking painted ceiling, along with the statement lighting and parquet flooring in the dining room – plus, the table converts into a pool table for after-dinner games. There's even a desk space complete with a Mac computer if you need to catch up on some work during your stay. Then, at the end of the day, you can ease those tired limbs into the hot tub in the emerald-toned garden – great outdoor space like this is such a rarity in the capital. From here, you can easily wander to one of the nearby pubs for a pint, or pick a local restaurant for a delicious supper. Kensington High Street is only an eight-minute walk away, where you can shop till you drop, and you can walk over to South Kensington's famous museums in just fifteen minutes. And, if you want to travel into the city centre, hop on the tube at Earl's Court to arrive there in twenty-five minutes – or take an hour's walk through Hyde Park.

About Kensington

Affluent and incredibly central, Kensington is a great base for exploring London on foot. Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park are on your doorstep and so are the Victoria and Albert, Science, and Natural History Museums. The streets are attractive and well maintained (grand, white stucco facades aplenty) and your neighbours will be a wealthy, conservative set. Lots of positives but probably not the place to let your hair down.
