Country life is on your doorstep at this charming Welsh cottage set on a working family farm in Powys. And village life isn't far away either, with the traditional inn of picturesque Meifod just a four-minute drive away. Inside, this home brings all the olde worlde feels, with oak beams and a period fireplace for cosy movie nights and cuppas. But it's outside, embracing farm life and the stunning scenery, where we think you'll want to be. Sunny mornings call for breakfast (with fresh eggs from the farm) outside in the garden. Surrounded by fields and the sounds of the River Banwy, only the occasional bleating of sheep and lowing of cattle could disturb you here. Savour a second cuppa as little ones keep themselves busy in the games room shared with the adjoining cottage, or run about in the communal playground. When it's time to embrace the great outdoors, there's plenty to explore nearby. The rivers Vyrnwy and Banwy running through the grounds are prime for an amble or fishing – you may even spot an otter going about their business. Or up the ante with an afternoon of watersports on Lake Vrynwy (half an hour drive). And in the nearby market town of Welshpool (a sixteen-minute drive), you can mooch about the charming shops and visit Powis Castle, the ancient home of the Prince of Powys. The landscaped gardens are some of the most beautiful in Wales.
