It's not hard to see how the Greek myths of sea gods and Mount Olympus came into being at this beautiful spot on the Liakas Peninsula. Bordered by the slopes of Mount Ainos and with uninterrupted views out over the ocean towards Zakynthos, this home's garden is the stuff of legends. The lawns stretch right to the edge of the sea, where a private pool invites refreshing dips and a table tennis table promises some afternoon competition – all set against a stunning coastal backdrop, of course. Inside, an open-plan living space is flooded with light from the sliding doors, with an L-shaped sofa that doubles as a bed for the ninth guest. Bedrooms bounce from orange to pastel blue, and each has its own en-suite for privacy. Two even boast sea-facing balconies. The decor may be a little dated (especially the kitchen), but it’s cosy and comfortable. And with easy access to the sea, a rocky beach a short walk away, and shops and tavernas within ten minutes by car, we reckon most of your time will be spent out and about.
