If, like us, you’re a fan of beautiful homes by the sea, this is one for the shortlist. Let’s start with the location – you’re right in the heart of Whitby here. Whitby’s medieval streets are worth exploring for their boutiques, cafes and cosy pubs, all within easy reach of the home. You could bring a car – parking is included – but it’s not essential with taxis on hand plus a train station a short walk away. Now to the house. Think framed art in every room, plush fabrics and sofas you can't help but sink into. The glossy kitchen comes fully-equipped, so you can serve up a feast for your favourite people around the ten-person dining table. Upstairs the cosy snug is an ideal spot for the kids to hang out while the grown-ups are downstairs. All the bedrooms are a treat, most with their own en-suite, although the master suite with a freestanding bath is worth bagging if you can. With that sea air just outside, we couldn’t think of a better place to call home for a while.
