Originally built in the 19th century as a coastguard’s cottage, this cosy home by the sea in Suffolk provides a comfortable port in a storm – or indeed any weather. With direct access to Thorpeness Beach via a gate at the bottom of the large garden, you couldn’t be better placed for enjoying a little vitamin sea. Pass through the gate and you’re just a 25-minute walk along the shingle beach from Aldeburgh, where you’ll find fresh-caught fish, trendy boutiques, incredible delis, and its famous seasonal arts festival. Or, stick closer to home with a day at the beach right on your doorstep – we love that this home’s position means you don’t need to plan a beach trip or pack a picnic basket. With the beach just steps away, you’re free to go back to the house whenever the need for a cup of tea strikes you. Back at the house, you’ll be pleasantly charmed by this cosy cottage’s large living areas. Not only is there an open-plan living and dining area complete with a fireplace, but you’ll also find a snug with bookcase-lined walls, comfortable seating and a TV that’s perfect for when the wind kicks up and a storm starts brewing. Whether it's summer or winter, this cottage masters being both cosy and beachy, sure to provide family or friends the perfect holiday in total comfort and style.
