Not only is this quaint little house located on a quiet road in one of Devon’s most charming villages, but best of all, it’s a five-minute walk from two lovely pubs. Inside, it’s supremely comfortable with a touch of coastal aesthetic: wood cladding, seaside art prints, and plenty of blue and white textiles. Upstairs, a good night’s sleep is guaranteed in the cosy, pin-drop quiet bedrooms. On balmy summer days, crack open the Pimms, fire up the barbecue and enjoy dinners alfresco on the decking. But not before high tea, with fresh scones and dollops of Devonshire clotted cream, of course. Follow a mile-and-a-half of handsome country lanes to the gorgeous Putsborough Sands or, if you’re a surfing enthusiast, a trip to Croyde Bay is a must. It’s only a six minute journey by car. Head home, salt-licked and wind-swept and hunker down for the evening under a blanket on that wonderfully squashy sofa, with the log fire roaring, and a well-deserved cup of tea.
