Looking for a little slice of Tuscany all to yourself? Allora, here it is. This beautiful Tuscan farmhouse splits the hillside in two, surrounding itself with greenery on all fronts. Get your vitamin D on one of several terraces dotted around the old stone walls, before cooling off in the glorious infinity pool with views over the verdant valley below. Poolside there’s your very own infrared sauna and an undercover (shh) hidden grotto that doubles up as a massive hot tub. You can keep up the alfresco living come evening on the covered dining terrace with its waney-edged wooden table and mountain views. This area is a fresh air extension of the timber and stone-built interior, where natural materials are complemented by subtley luxurious furnishings. Despite feeling utterly remote, you’re just a 10-minute drive from the centre of Pescia, with its ancient streets full of shops and restaurants. Travel a bit further afield and bike on the old fortress walls of Lucca, or sprawl out on one of Tuscany’s gorgeous beaches.
