Surrounded by woods and waterways, this elegant chateau in the Loire Valley comes with ten hectares of private parkland, a fishing pond (complete with a boat), a river, and even a maze to call your own. With a forest of trees right on your doorstep, you can start hiking the moment you step foot outside of this palatial home – there’s a healthy number of trails to keep you occupied, while those looking for a more sedentary way to wind down can head out onto the small lake to catch dinner. And what could be better after all that activity than a spot of pre-dinner boules with a glass of rosé in hand? Sports lovers will be happy to hear that there’s also badminton and spikeball on offer. This ancient chateau has been well and truly brought into the twenty-first century with its chic, tasteful interiors. We love the elegant yet cosy living room with its warm wood-panelled walls and luxurious, velvet sofas – the effortlessly stylish bar and billiards table help lend an almost Agatha Christie-esque air of old-fashioned indulgence to the home. As a much-loved wedding venue, it’s easy to see why you might choose to spend your most special of special days here. In the dining room, vast picture windows turn your attention back to the beautiful surroundings, while in the bedrooms, a modern take on art deco interiors will have you drifting off to sleep in the lap of luxury.

About France

You could easily take a lifetime’s worth of French holidays and still feel like you haven’t scratched the nation’s surface. The most visited country in the world, France has long inspired artists, revolutionaries, dreamers, and bons vivants with its storybook landscapes, artistic treasures, and cultural idiosyncrasies. Paris is, of course, the country’s glittering centrepiece but there are countless beauty spots worth discovering outside of the City of Light. Sun yourself...

Host

This home is managed by Oliver

This home is managed directly by a business. A member of their staff will be your point of contact before and during your stay. Nearly twenty years ago, Oliver and his friend began curating the world's most unique and rustic getaways. Driven by their own unforgettable experience at a chateau, they have grown remarkably since then. Much like Plum, they believe in hand-picked luxury that doesn't break the bank.

This home is nominated for the Plum Guide Award.
