Arriving by water taxi to the private jetty of your pink palazzo in Venice is, we’ll admit, setting the holiday bar rather high. But we promise this charming apartment will keep on delivering 'che bello' moments. For starters, how about a welcome hamper with a bottle of bellini, fresh croissants delivered daily? And a sunlit roof terrace for sipping soave? This historic building on the mouth of the Grand Canal was restored by local Venetian artisans to create a contemporary space, without losing its seventeenth-century feel. Original paintings, an ornate candelabra and a striking mirror-back sideboard are just some of the unique items included in the home’s private collection. Mixed with modern furnishings and some delightful fresco-inspired wallpaper, it’s an eclectic yet classy home. And it’s right in the centre of the city’s most iconic area, a five-minute walk from St Mark’s Square. Galleries, museums, restaurants, and drinking spots like Hemingway's favourite Harry’s Bar, are merely a walk or a boat ride away.
