Do you have a question about this home or the local area?

Over the centuries, this unique Suffolk home has lived many lives. A former corset factory turned furniture warehouse, it’s been restored to its former glory (and then some) with this careful conversion. The hosts have preserved the gorgeous original features, like the exposed brickwork and iron beams, that make this home so special, while adding a hint of 21st-century style and comfort in the form of luxurious sofas and neon signs. The open-plan kitchen and living room is made for long family dinners and socialising around the wood-burning stove, but the different levels and snug spaces mean there’s more than enough room to break out and do your own thing. We particularly love the little raised area of the kitchen —where you can curl up with a book on one of the comfy armchairs or get some work done at the desk space. In the pretty market town of Woodbridge, you’ll never be short of a traditional pub or trendy coffee shop to visit, and the incredible Sutton Hoo national park and picturesque River Deben are only a five-minute walk from your front door.

Home truths

The home doesn’t have much in the way of outdoor space, but the National Trust’s enormous Sutton Hoo park is within a five-minute walk

All the bedrooms are on a lower floor than the living space, and due to the stairs this home wouldn't be suitable for those with mobility issues

The home has no private parking, though there is a public car park a few minutes walk away

Host

This home is managed by Oliver

This home is managed directly by a business. A member of their staff will be your point of contact before and during your stay. Nearly twenty years ago, Oliver and his friend began curating the world's most unique and rustic getaways. Driven by their own unforgettable experience at a chateau, they have grown remarkably since then. Much like Plum, they believe in hand-picked luxury that doesn't break the bank.

This home is nominated for the Plum Guide Award.
