Nestled in the quiet hamlet of Chimney, right on the edge of the Cotswolds, this family-friendly barn is ideal for a country getaway. It has oodles of character – hello, wood-burning stove – and plenty of space. We love how the beamed A-frame ceilings, large windows and sumptuous seating create a welcoming atmosphere. Whether you want to flex your culinary muscles in the well-stocked kitchen, curl up with an engrossing read in front of the fire, or make the most of warm weather and head outside to the garden, you'll feel right at home here. The enclosed courtyard is ideal for both pups and kids to run around in – while they play, adults can lounge on the outdoor sofa with a drink in hand, keeping an eye out for deer, birds and other wildlife. If you're in the mood to barbecue, there's an alfresco dining table and a Weber grill, but the real highlight is the heated tin bath – perfect for a soak under the stars. Many of the must-see Cotswolds villages are within driving distance when you're ready to explore, and Oxford is thirty minutes away by car. Fancy staying closer to home? Enjoy an afternoon ramble around... the Thames-side paths in Chimney Meadows Nature Reserve (just a few minutes' walk away), relax with a glass of wine in the shared on-site wild meadow or wander the 13-acres of land on your doorstep.
