If it’s space to breathe and a sea breeze you’re after, then this is the home for you. Looking out over the azure water off the west coast of Barbados, it’s perched up in Holders Polo Ridge. The double-height living room is warehouse-big, but has all the elegance of an old plantation house with a mezzanine study area, cooling coral-stone walls and suspended chandelier. When pulled back, the sliding glass doors melt the barrier between indoors and outdoors, and the sea breeze flows in from the garden. A full living room complete with coffee table, ottoman and wet bar sits under the shade of the poolside terrace, and a separate outdoor dining room is crowned with a sparkling chandelier. It’s the kind of space that calls for fine dining and champagne, which your private chef and butler will be more than happy to provide. The pool itself could belong to a five-star hotel – a long rectangle for lap swimming, crowned with a sunken hot tub and lined with day beds and loungers. Sumptuous bedroom suites are set across the main house and in the separate garden cottage with its own private patio. There’s plenty of space for the group to gather or find a secluded spot for some downtime.
