Home to Rome's main train station and the Basilica Papale di Santa Maria Maggiore, Esquilino is a multi-cultural hub with plenty of authentic Roman charm. Here, you can enjoy casual dinners at the local trattorias, sip espresso and people-watch in Piazza Vittorio and shop for international ingredients at the local markets. It's more laid-back than other neighbourhoods, but you can't beat the location – the Colosseum is only a twenty-minute stroll away, and there are plenty of subway stations, so getting around the city is no problem. Inside, the apartment is a warm and welcoming respite from the bustling streets outside. The traditional stone ceiling is an absolute showstopper, and the soft furnishings and natural colour scheme only add to the wow factor. While the living area is decidedly rustic, the sleek kitchen is completely modern, and it has everything home cooks will need.
