Do you have a question about this home or the local area?

It's not just the mid-century furniture and muted colour palette in this home that takes influence from the Scandinavians. Out in the garden, there's an electric-powered sauna, as well as a bathtub on the patio that you can fill with cold water for the full authentic experience. Once you've finished flitting between the two, you can rest up in the cosy summer house. The host has put together a list of local therapists and this private space is perfect for treatments. Back inside, there's plenty of equipment to keep those particular about their coffee happy, including an espresso machine, milk frother, percolator, grinder and fresh beans from a local roaster. When you're feeling suitably caffeinated, the charming seaside town of Margate is waiting to be explored. The main beach takes about a quarter of an hour to reach on foot, as does the Dreamland Amusement Park, which often hosts concerts, club nights and events.

About Margate

One of the earliest Victorian seaside resorts, Margate was one of the top spots for a summer holiday in the country for a long time. Until, that is, the rise of the cheap package holiday in the seventies. Now, after a few years in the wilderness, this little town is back with a bang. Packed with culture vultures, great food and drinks businesses, and a thriving arts scene, if you’re...

Host

This home is managed by Carey

This home is managed directly by its owner who will be your point of contact before and during your stay. I live with my husband, Johan, and our furry baby, called Granny. I am an interior designer/stylist and my husband is a music producer. We just finished building a little house on a lake, in Sweden, and enjoy road trips back and fourth, between Sweden and Margate. I love socialising with friends, rambling around with Granny, horse riding and snow boarding.

This home is nominated for the Plum Guide Award.
