Comfortable and charming, this lovely cottage is perfectly placed for exploring Suffolk. With two sitting areas, a snug study and a country-style kitchen/diner, there's plenty of space here for a family or group of friends to spread out. And that's not including the sunny garden, filled with rose bushes, blooming flower beds and space for little ones to run around and play croquet. When the weather is nice, enjoy alfresco breakfasts on the terrace and summer barbecues as the evenings draw to a close. During colder months, grab a novel from the host's collection and snuggle up in front of the fireplace, pop a film into the DVD player for a movie night or play a board game around the expansive dining table. We love all the character features – wooden beams, stone flooring and exposed brick fireplaces only add to the cosy atmosphere. Plus, everything in Orford is within walking distance, including pubs, shops and cafes. Grab a pastry and a coffee from the local bakery across the street and explore the area. The views atop Orford Castle are extraordinary – it's just a three-minute walk – while down towards the river, you can hop on a ferry and... explore Orford Ness National Nature Reserve, a must-visit for nature lovers and keen ornithologists.
