The picturesque fishing village of Mousehole may not be one of Cornwall's most famous hotspots, but it's certainly one of the most beautiful and this home is in the perfect position for exploring it. A short stroll to the centre of its tiny town and a three-minute wander from the sparkling harbour, filled with restaurants, bars and fishing boats. The surrounding area offers plenty to see and do, including many glorious places to eat, but it's always lovely returning back to this cosy cottage. Curl up with a good book under the warmth of the wood-burning stove or sink into the deep sofa seat with a glass of wine. You'll notice plenty of personal touches, from local artwork to quirky adornments, as well as low-beamed ceilings that make for a homely country-style living space to relax. In warmer months, the large garden with the full range of outdoor furniture calls out for lazy days spent in the sun sipping alfresco drinks. Inside and out, this home is the perfect size for a romantic break in a quieter Cornish village.

Home truths

The kitchen is more of a kitchenette with fairly basic appliances, better suited for cooking lite bites and snacks

The living room has a sofa for one person so it does not comfortably seat the whole home's capacity – although there is a wooden armchair by the fire

There are two single Zip&Link beds that combine to make a super king-sized double bed – please inform the host at the time of booking if you prefer to have the bed set up separately

While there's no parking at the home, there's a public car park in the harbour nearby and an overflow car park on the outskirts of the village

This home is not suitable for babies or toddlers – children's amenities are not provided

About Mousehole

This tiny Cornish fishing village packs an unexpected arty punch. Set on the hills above Mousehole Harbour, its winding, cottage-filled streets feature four art galleries. The surrounding area is known for its creativity, with many artists having lived in the nearby communities. Perhaps it’s the beautiful coastline, dramatic woodlands, or the coastal walks where clifftops seem to be blanketed in a colourful coat of yellow gorse, green ferns and purple...
