Savour the magnificent views over the Esk Valley from this stunning home, dating from the 1800s. Train enthusiasts will love watching North Yorkshire Moors Railway's steam trains winding their way through the valley on their way to and from Whitby. We could spend hours sitting on the balcony with its incredible countryside vistas or in the garden, with its pretty shrubs, flowers, and fruit trees (help yourself to fruit when in season). Inside, this beautiful property exudes quality and character – from the wooden floors to the beamed ceilings and oak doors. Tuck into the fresh loaf made by your lovely host in the home's bread maker for your arrival, and enjoy the welcome hamper packed with Yorkshire goodies. This delightful cottage is great for all seasons – we think it's particularly cosy in the colder months – light the open fire and toast some marshmallows. Located in the village of Sleights – you'll find a bakery, delicatessen, butchers, fish restaurant and a couple of pubs that serve food, all within a five-minute stroll. It's just a five-minute drive, on the other hand, to the North York Moors National Park, while it's ten minutes to the popular seaside town of... Whitby.

When the sun sets, ghost tours amble through the cobbled streets, revealing the town’s dramatic history. By day it’s all idyllic fishing village vibes, with a hint of Victorian holidays.
