Foucault's Pendulum

  • 4 guests

  • 2 bedrooms

  • 2 bathrooms

    +1 extra toilet

Nestled between Grands Boulevards and Le Marais, this stylish apartment is in a perfect locale for exploring. It's set over the ground and lower-ground floor, the latter of which serves as a second bedroom or den with a comfy sofa bed. We love the exposed stonework and industrial-inspired glass partitions, which separate the bedroom from the living area. The bookshelf wallpaper makes you feel like you're relaxing in a private library, while the kitchen, albeit small, has everything you need to whip up a light bite. Location-wise, you're close to excellent brassieres, boutiques and cafes, plus within walking distance of many of the must-see landmarks. Behold Foucault's pendulum at the Musée des Arts et Métiers (a two-minute walk away), visit the Mona Lisa at the Louvre (twenty minutes on foot) or admire the spires and listen to the bells chime at Notre Dame (reachable in twenty-five minutes). And with multiple metro stations just a quick stroll away, getting to the harder-to-reach areas of Paris is easily done, making this is an ideal spot for a jaunt around the French capital.

Home truths

At full capacity, two guests will be sleeping on two sofa beds

This home is set over two floors with steep stairs leading down to the basement – it may not be suitable for children or those with limited mobility

The front door opens directly onto the street

The bathroom set up is a little odd – there are two individual shower rooms and one individual toilet

There's no formal dining table and only room for two at the small breakfast bar

There also isn't a washing machine, but there is a laundrette two minutes away

A car is not necessary since this home is in the city centre close to many metro stations – if you do decide to drive, the only parking is at a paid multistorey car park nearby
