A perfect getaway for two, this cottage delivers on all fronts. It's bright and contemporary, but the vaulted ceilings and exposed beams add a rustic touch that suits the surrounding landscape. Inside, a light-filled living area opens onto a gorgeous patio. Sipping champagne as the sun goes down will become your evening ritual – keep an eye out for wild rabbits and rare birds flying overhead. Drive ten minutes in the opposite direction and you'll hit the Northumberland coast – both Boulmer and Alnmouth are great options if you fancy a day by the seaside.
