Surrounded by the River Coquet, and a fifteen-minute drive from the 11th-century Alnwick Castle, the charming village of Warkworth plays host to this equally charming home. Next to a park, in a traditional stone house with bright-blue stable doors, this former blacksmiths’ building is every inch the picture-perfect English scene. We love the warmth and cosiness of the interiors, while still in keeping with modern and tasteful decor. Relax with a hot cup of tea on the plush velvet sofas in the lounge, or dine in the cute alcove on the blue velvet banquette. These luxury fabrics continue in the comfy bedrooms, with quilted headboards and thick throws for chilly evenings in the north. However on sunny days, you can make the most of your private patio for a gin and tonic. Take a stroll down your street to find local Warkworth Castle seven minutes away. En route, you’ll pass by quaint gift shops, cafés, and traditional English pubs. Anyone for a pint of ale?

Right at the top of England, Northumberland’s great expanse is dotted with medieval strongholds that have seen many a bloody battle. A landscape rich with history, you can explore the crumbling ruins of clifftop castles or tour restored and retained masterpieces at Bamburgh Castle and Alnwick Castle. Fishing villages punctuate the sweeps of undiscovered beaches along the coastline. Tangles of lobster pots sit on old stone harbours while boats trundle...
