Located in the Alfama – Lisbon’s oldest district – and housed in a beautiful azulejo-clad building, this third-floor home not only gives you jaw-dropping views but provides a comfortable and stylish base from which to experience the best of the city’s sights. Inside, an open-plan main room creates a bright welcome with a cosy sofa set inviting you to kick back and relax and a window-side table that beckons to be sat at over pastéis de nata and coffee. We love the French windows that open out onto a Juliet balcony, giving way to picturesque views of the traditional tiled buildings opposite. It’s the bedroom’s vistas, however, that are the real showstoppers. Pull back the curtain to feast on views of São Vicente Church – it’s just a two-minute walk when you’re ready to see it up close. Elsewhere around your home, São Jorge Castle is an eight-minute walk away, the National Pantheon is walkable is six, while the waterside Praça do Comércio is eighteen minutes away on foot. Factor in the warren of narrow streets steeped in history right outside your door and packed full of bars, restaurants and shops, and you’ve got everything you need for a blissfully... relaxing stay.

About Alfama
As Lisbon’s oldest neighbourhood, it’s not surprising that Alfama is also the corner of the city with the most character. Here, you’ll get an authentic taste of the real Portugal, away from the tourist-trodden trails of the centre. Unlike most of Lisbon, this area survived the famous 1755 earthquake, preserving an image of the old capital. Steep, cobbled streets are flanked with down-to-earth cafés, crumbling churches and intimate fado venues...
