High in the hills above the city, this apartment in the historic Mouraria district is bright and inviting. With a glossy kitchen, charming terrace and cosy bedrooms, it has everything you'll need for a stay in Lisbon. Start your day with breakfast on the balcony, making the most of the gorgeous weather. After exploring, come home and kick back on the sofa or lounge in the sumptuous bedrooms. The earthy colour scheme is super relaxing and very contemporary – there's an air of 'hygge' about it all, but with a Portuguese twist. Even better is the location. While this neighbourhood is tucked away from the bustling city centre, we love the local atmosphere. It's the birthplace of Fado music, so lively cafes, bars and restaurants serving up authentic Lisbon dishes are a given. Not only is Martim Moniz metro station a ten-minute walk away, but the legendary Tram 28 can take you down to the Praça do Comércio in less than twenty minutes – the stop is just a short stroll away.

About Mouraria

With street performers, Fado shows and lots of unmissable sights, Mouraria should be at the top of your list. A trip through its narrow streets is like stepping back in time, revisiting the rich cultural background even before the great earthquake of 1755. In fact, the story goes that Fado was born in Mouraria, and it’s since made its way to the UNESCO World Heritage list. Although it’s quite central, this neighbourhood has a strong local community and an independent art scene that will show you a side of old, nostalgic Lisbon that you won’t find anywhere else.
