From the top of this hill in Sintra, you can see right across the urban areas as well as the lush landscapes of the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park. Just six kilometres away from Pena Palace, the fabulous Romanticist castle in the mountains, this home isn’t quite as large, but it’s certainly charming. The traditional-style villa has a typical Portuguese terracotta roof, just like you'd expect, and a cute hidden arch leading to your apartment on the ground floor. We love the sophisticated, modern decor with subtle, rustic touches. You’ll find a patchwork rug, antique wooden chair, and of course ornate tiles in the kitchen and bathroom. In the master bedroom, the white metal bed frame brings an elegant shape into the mix, while pistachio-coloured walls make the space feel very serene and peaceful. However, the views from the windows of this home are nothing short of dramatic. Gaze out over striking scenes of the town and countryside as you sip an espresso in the morning. Or perhaps you’d rather admire the views with a glass of vinho verde by night.
