Home to young creatives and the University of Porto fine arts faculty – there are plenty of galleries to visit, including the Senhora Presidenta and Lehmann + Silva. Or, spend your days browsing hip boutiques on Rua de Santo Ildefonso. Of course, there are an array of bars, cafes and tempting restaurants to sample, too, right on your doorstep. It's also just a ten-minute stroll from the famous Igreja do Bonfim, or for more attractions – downtown and Porto Cathedral are just a twenty-minute walk away. With the metro (Heroísmo), a mere two-minute saunter – it's easy to get anywhere in the city in no time. Back at this home, we love the garden space – put your feet up and sip some Port or relax in the deckchairs on the bedroom's balcony and catch a few Portuguese rays. With its wood floors, whitewashed walls, and subtle grey hues, the living room is a great place to unwind with a book after a busy day of sightseeing. Bonfim is a neighbourhood where you can really blend in and live like a local. It’s not at all overrun by tourists. It was formerly an industrial area, and in parts the architecture still bears traces of this. There’s a real mix of local businesses as well as trendy cafes and restaurants — a good fit for families or groups after a low-key base not too far from the centre....
