Situated on the doorstep of Exmoor National Park, a ten-minute drive from the sweetly named Wild Pear Beach and twenty minutes from Barnstaple, this luxury lodge couldn’t be better placed for families or small groups of friends intending to explore the rolling hills of the North Devon countryside. Inside the home, there’s a fuss-free approach to ensure you’re as comfortable as can be. Sip mugs of tea on the plump sofas, enjoy slow breakfasts in the chic kitchen and treat yourself to extra-long snoozes in the hotel-quality beds. And if that wasn’t idyllic enough, there’s a hot tub on the wraparound sun deck for you to allow any remaining worries to melt away. Forego cooking for an evening and try the lip-smacking selection of classic dishes at the on-site brasserie-style restaurant or dig into pub grub at the Pyne Arms, a seven-minute drive away.
