A cosy studio within a restored farm in the heart of Somerset’s rolling pastures, this snug abode is perfect for couples or solo travellers looking to escape to the country. The interiors are no-nonsense yet cosy – there’s a comfy couch with footstool for some serious relaxing and a dining space for putting together platters of local cheese accompanied by pints of the region’s very best cider. If you’re feeling extra peckish, there are cooking facilities available on-site for knocking up hearty suppers. The private patio was our favourite spot to spend balmy afternoons, but with fifty-five acres of land, including a six-acre wood, to explore, you’ll be spoilt for choice. Perhaps you’ll find a sunny spot by the wildflowers or beside the pond, watching electric blue dragonflies skim across the surface. From sheep shearing to aromatherapy workshops, there are a number of activities for you to get stuck into. But if you’d prefer to venture further afield, the historic city of Bath is a thirty-minute drive away.
