There's a lot to like about this studio apartment in the buzzy Marigny neighbourhood. For a start, the huge glass wall taking up one side of the living space means that natural light is allowed to stream in — it can feel like a never-ending supply given the amount of sunshine that New Orleans enjoys. What's more, the interior is peppered with eclectic finds that match the off-beat vibe of the city, especially the leopard-print chair and old-school gramophone in the corner. Out the back of the home, there's a shared garden complete with a swimming pool for cooling off on those Louisianan summer afternoons. When you're ready to see more of the city, the Crescent Park Trail can be reached in ten minutes on foot and continues along the banks of the Mississippi River. There's live music and fiery cuisine to be discovered in the French Quarter, about fifteen minutes' walk away.
