Nestled between the highrises of New Orleans' CBD and the historic French Quarter, your Canal St retreat is right in the middle of it all. Given the compact size of this studio apartment, colours are a little more on the muted side so as not to shrink the space. However, its tall ceilings make it feel larger than its footprint would have you believe, while the balcony almost doubles the available space on sunny days. While there's no oven in the kitchen, it's more capable of whipping up hearty breakfasts and light meals, though, in this food mecca, it would be a shame not to search out some Cajun-Creole classics and every available opportunity. So hop aboard a streetcar to explore the city, enjoy some outlet shopping at the waterside warehouses of the Riverwalk before treating yourself to fantastic feasts at neighbourhood favourites. As day turns to night and the true New Orleans reveals itself, take a stroll down Bourbon St and search out some live jazz. If that's not your thing, there are rock cover bands aplenty, plus lots of karaoke for any budding singers out there.
