Once a barn, this beautiful stone property is now an idyllic retreat on the Isle of Wight. There are a few reminders of the building's former purpose, such as the wooden ceiling beams and a pair of saddles and stirrups on the mezzanine level, but otherwise, it's been well and truly modernised. The ground floor feels open and sociable, with a living room complete with a sprawling leather sofa and a wood-burner sitting at one end and a brick-lined kitchen with plenty of surface space at the other. Through the glass doors, there's an enclosed garden complete with alfresco seating, a coal barbecue and a fire pit ― that's your summer evenings planned, then. In the surrounding village of Havenstreet, there's a pub and shop, as well as a station for the Isle of Wight Railway ― a steam train service designed to resemble the 1940s that takes tourists on a ten-mile trip around the island. The diverse forest of Firestone Copse can be reached in eighteen minutes on foot, too.

About Isle of Wight

Who doesn’t want a holiday where royalty have dipped their toes in the surf?
