Inspired by Japanese minimalism, this sleek homestead is all about light, shadow and simple design. Wood floors, soft furnishings and clean lines create a calming haven away from Barcelona's hustle and bustle, and there's no better spot to unwind than the private balcony. Filled with rattan furniture and leafy plants, it's the perfect place to start and end each day. Savour a cup of coffee in the morning sun, then after a long afternoon exploring, end the evening with a glass of Spain's finest vino as the sun goes down. If you need to do a bit of work, there's the chic office space, if you prefer to do your own cooking, the monochrome kitchen is fully stocked with cookware and culinary gear and if you crave a chilled night at home, the vinyl player and streaming on the smart TV will sort you out. This is a stylish and contemporary place to call home – and best of all is the location. Sant Gervasi is a family-friendly neighbourhood tucked away from the liveliest parts of town, yet there are still a wealth of tapas bars, boutique shopping and fine dining along Avenida Diagonal to tempt you out. There's no parking provided, but with Diagonal metro station a five-minute walk away, we don't think you'll need a car – instead, pack comfortable shoes and explore on foot
