Matte black everything is the order of the day in this ultra-sleek and uber-chic Tel Aviv apartment. Inside, your hosts have employed a Japanese-inspired design philosophy with clean white walls, deep black accents and plenty of pale wood to ground you in nature. There's also an abundance of plant life, both indoors and out to keep things feeling calm. The open-plan kitchen and living area is a lovely space to relax, and direct access to the outdoors makes it feel even bigger than its footprint. Out here on the beautiful wooden deck, you'll find everything you need to prepare and cook food outdoors on the grill, plus a hot tub where you can enjoy pre- and post-dinner drinks. The bedrooms continue along a similar theme to the communal spaces, providing zen-like retreats to unwind in at the end of the day. Situated in the upscale Old North neighbourhood, the home is just over a kilometre north of luxury Israeli fashion boutiques of Dizengoff Square and a similar distance south of lively Tel Aviv Port. Here, a cafe-lined beachside boardwalk and mainstream fashion boutiques attract the daytime crowd. Come nightfall, oceanside cocktail bars, and warehouses converted into techno clubs keep the party going into the small hours.

About Old North

Spanning from Arzolorov Street to Park Hayarkon, the Old North is a well-kept neighbourhood full of classy sea-facing bistros serving Mediterranean delicacies as well as chic cafés and mainstream shopping streets. Its most famous street is Dizengoff Street. Even though many of the shops are high-end, the restaurants and bars are affordable, and many Tel-Avivians come here to enjoy a drink in some of the stylish cocktail bars that are dotted along the street and its offshoots.
