In the 3rd arrondissement of Paris, staying in a studio flat like a true creative type is a rite of passage. Ten minutes from the vibrant waterside community of the Canal Saint-Martin, this home offers compact living with a trendy vibe that makes up for its size. The interiors are minimalist and modern, with plenty of natural light. There are some quirky features such as an 80s-style floral wall in the bedroom, but the overall feeling is that of relaxation. We love the understated kitchen and dining space – perch on the bar stools with your café au lait in the morning as you consider what to do with the day ahead. The Temple metro stop is just a five-minute walk, so you can explore every corner of Paris before returning for an evening in Le Marais. With its colourful streets full of dimly-lit wine bars and restaurants, it would be a shame not to discover the delights of your local area. Or if you’d rather cook at home, you’re ten minutes from the Marché des Enfants Rouges – an 17th-century covered market selling every type of French produce an aspiring chef could need.
