USA history buffs looking for a city break could do worse than consider this studio apartment in the heart of Savannah's Historic District. The home itself is well-proportioned, with large windows on the far side of the open living area bathing the space in natural light, which is emphasised by the creamy white walls and dark wooden floor. There are little design flourishes throughout that we appreciated, from the colourful artwork hanging on the wall and the bare, oversized lightbulbs, which feel particularly en vogue. In the locale, there's a wealth of eighteenth-century architecture that dates back to before the Civil War and many of the colonial mansions have been turned into museums or galleries. Both Owens-Thomas and Davenport Houses can both be reached in under five minutes on foot, for instance.
