You’ll find this studio apartment in a former confectionery factory on the banks of the River Foss. Inside, expect contemporary design with refreshing pops of colour, exposed brick walls and artwork depicting the building’s heritage. In the comfy living area, the cherry red armchair is the perfect spot for relaxing with a glass of wine at the end of a busy day, while the dining nook calls for sitting down with a generous slice of locally produced curd tart and a strong cup of tea. When you’re ready to stretch your legs, take the ten-minute amble to the JORVIK Viking Centre, higgledy-piggledy Shambles and Betty’s Tea Room – somewhat of an institution in Yorkshire.
