A ten-minute drive from the historic city centre of York, to the west of its ancient streets, the Holgate neighbourhood offers a more calm, suburban vibe, far from the throngs of tourists. Five minutes on foot from this serene apartment, you can find Holgate Windmill (the oldest five-sailed windmill in England) and the wooded greenery of West Bank Park is just a three-minute walk. With pubs, cafés, and bakeries around the local area, being non-central certainly doesn’t mean that there isn’t much to do. Inside the home, the vibe is classy yet understated. Mid-century-style furniture like the TV cabinet marries perfectly with modern pieces such as the spotlight standing lamp. The colour palette is subdued, making the entire space feel calm and relaxed – blues, greys, cream, and browns harmonise in the lounge. Thick carpets work alongside squashy cushions and knitted blankets in the bedroom, bringing cosy comfort to your stay. And with views of the majestic, 13th-century York Minster Cathedral in the distance, your suburban escape still has some reminders of big city sights. Pour yourself a proper Yorkshire brew and admire the scenery.
