With its traditional pub and quaint duck filled pond, the village of Askham Richard is as idyllic as they come. You’ll find this gorgeous home tucked down a bucolic lane overlooking endless pastures. Inside, the place is finished to a high country modern standard. We loved the warm wood tones, swatches of moss green paint and muted floral fabrics. Upstairs, a whisper-quiet bedroom demands long lie-ins in the comfy king size bed. When it’s nice out, while away the hours on the patio with mugs of Yorkshire tea or glasses of Pimm’s. Cooking your favourite meals is a breeze in the fully-equipped kitchen, but if you’d prefer to hang up your chef’s apron, take the twenty-minute drive into historic York for stellar restaurants, cafes and bars. Spend an afternoon admiring the Minster and exploring the old City Walls and when dusk falls, embark on a spooky ghost tour through the medieval Shambles.
