In the quaint, countryside village of Bretforton, some of its ancient buildings and farmsteads have been owned by the same family for the last two-hundred and fifty years. Incredibly, this cottage on the corner dates all the back to the 17th century, exuding historic charm from every nook and cranny. While the home is less than 5 miles from the town of Evesham, and just over an hour from the metropolis of Birmingham, it’s a world away from modern life. A traditional timber-framed exterior welcomes you to the past as you approach the olive-green front door. Inside, you’ll find yet more original elements with impressive 21st-century updates. We love the inglenook where the fireplace would have sat – now you can sit here instead, as you sip Earl Grey in this cosy sofa alcove. Timber beams on the ceilings, exposed brickwork, and a narrow staircase create a fairytale cottage vibe, but fancy features like Bluetooth speakers in the bathroom mirror bring you back to the present day. Outside, you might fancy a barbecue on the patio with a chilled glass of champagne. Or if you’d rather have a picnic on the lawn, don’t forget to pick fresh apples from your... tree.
