Wood, stone, trees, gravel, and a flowing river just six minutes away – this village lodge has every element of rural living ready to welcome you. With the banks of the River Tweed so close, as well as the Scotland-England border which runs through it, this home in Norham is a delightful escape to the country. The quaint village has an award-winning butcher, a baker, traditional pubs, and excellent walks within five minutes of your door. When you’re not busy exploring the great outdoors, you can explore the modern interiors of the living space. Dark wooden floors, cushy leather sofas, and fluffy cushions create a soft and homely vibe where you can sip Earl Grey in peace. Or with big glass doors out to your private courtyard, you might fancy taking things alfresco. If you’re not outside barbecuing, the kitchen is bright and minimalist, with a cosy dining bench for serving up a roast – but avoid cooking on Thursday nights. This is a special event in Norham, where the local fish and chip van comes to the village. There might be a bit of a queue, but you’ll understand why after you taste this British delicacy.
