Longing for some fresh air? This idyllic retreat promises plenty of peace, quiet and relaxation in the countryside. Nestled right on the Welsh border, scenic walks await right on your doorstep, so be sure to pack your hiking boots. No matter what time of year, you'll find something to keep you busy – be it stretching your legs with a ramble through the sheep-dotted Shropshire Hills, taking in the views from Montgomery Castle's ruined battlements or rewarding yourself after a busy day with a pint at one of the local pubs. Back at home, the warm living area is packed with squishy sofas, well-thumbed books, board games and classic country charm. Whether you're reading in the overstuffed armchairs or snuggling up for a family film night, it's the definition of cosy, especially with the fire burning on wintery evenings. We think kids will be happy here, too. The third bedroom has children's books and delightful bunk beds, creating a little hideaway for when they crave their own space. At mealtimes, come together around the dining table for a homecooked feast – made with love in the quaint kitchen – but in the summer, it'll be hard to resist firing up the barbecue and dining alfresco on the terrace, admiring the gorgeous scenery.
