You'll find this seaside retreat just outside Viareggio, only a ten-minute bike ride from the beach. A former hayloft, it's now been converted into a comfortable and chic couple's hideaway, complete with all the mod-cons you'll crave on holiday – including a luxe rainfall shower, a sleek, fully-equipped kitchen and air conditioning for hot summer days. French doors flood the living space with light, but chances are, you'll spend most of your time here on the terrace. We don't blame you if you do – the comfy swing sofa is perfect for naps in the sunshine, alfresco dining is a given around the table and the wood-fired pizza oven means you can experiment with your favourite toppings. There's also a sparkling pool shared with the owners living in the main villa, so you'll have plenty to keep you busy. When you fancy a change of scenery, Viareggio is yours to explore. The city's sandy beaches, historical museums and delicious restaurants are a quick car ride (or cycle) away. But if you're up for travelling a little further, Pisa and Lucca are both a half-hour drive, making this spot ideal for adventures around Tuscany.

The friendly owners and their two puppies live in the main villa – you'll share the pool with them, but otherwise, you'll have plenty of peace and privacy
