A ten-minute drive from Rhodes Town, this beautiful villa is an architectural marvel. It’s apparent in the lounge, where a golden circle in the ceiling marks the outline of a blue dome outside. A lipstick-red chaise longue twists into a scroll, reminiscent of ancient Greece, and gallery-white walls are adorned with original modern artworks. Hallways are lined with clay vases that look like they’re on loan from the Acropolis museum and mosaic floors are cooling underfoot. It’s the outdoor spaces that really take the biscuit here though. The huge terrace is shaded in places for dining, lounging and taking in that sea view. A built-in stone barbecue provides alfresco feasts at the quartz-topped dining table and there’s a ping pong table for a fun moment before dinner. Turquoise and shimmering, the Roman-style swimming pool invites you for a dip in the heat of the day. If you’re not whiling away the days poolside, it’s a ten-minute drive into Rhodes Town, where the shambling medieval streets of the UNESCO old town are home to pretty courtyard restaurants, old castle walls and independent boutiques. For a day at the beach, the soft sand of Paralia Kallitheas is a five-minute drive (or leisurely half-hour... stroll) away.
