The third-largest of the Ionian Islands, Zakynthos offers plenty of coastal landscapes for sunbathing, snorkelling, and spotting sea turtles. An eighteen-minute drive from bustling Zakynthos Town, this villa allows you to enjoy a vibrant dining and nightlife scene. But just sixteen minutes away, you can board the ferry to serene Turtle Island. Set among tree-lined hills looking out to Laganas Bay, the approach to the home feels like an adventure. Wander through the host’s plot of fertile lands, where you can pick figs, pomegranates, and lemons en route to your front door. Arriving at its exterior, the modern, angular lines of the building work delightfully in contrast to the organic surroundings. Similar design choices continue inside, where you’ll find glass, chrome, and a sleek kitchen in favour of traditional Greek interiors. The floating staircase leads to a mezzanine bedroom, where you can wake up to views of verdant fields. Another excellent viewpoint is the private patio. A tiled ‘infinity terrace’ plays host to a funky hanging chair as well as a plunge pool – there’s even an integrated Jacuzzi for extra bubbles while you sip champagne and gaze out to Marthonisi.
