This home is situated in the village of Spartia – in the Livathos region of Cephalonia – which is famous for its history as a base for sea captains. It is also an ideal location to explore much of what the island has to offer including beautiful golden beaches such as Spartia beach – just a twenty-minute walk away. Visit the ruins of the Venetian Castle of Saint George, perched above the village of Peratata – just a twelve-minute drive away. Or, take a longer trip to the charming village of Assos – an hour away by car – to explore the ruins of a 16th century Venetian castle, and weave your way through the narrow streets of colourful houses to the taverns on the quayside overlooking a view of the bay. In the evening, pick up some local produce from the market that is just a ten-minute walk away from this home. Prepare a meal of delicious traditional Greek dishes in the outdoor kitchen space complete with a barbecue area before dining alfresco under the covered veranda with a panoramic view of the sun setting over the ocean and the outstanding gardens.
