Nestled in the heart of Henley-on-Thames, this penthouse flat is a masterclass in cosy, contemporary design. The first things you'll notice are the sky-high ceilings adorned with exposed wooden beams, but look a little closer and you'll spot one-of-a-kind furniture made by an award-winning local designer. The room is huge, with more than enough space for a couple to spread out. Although it's all open plan, there are distinct spaces to dine on homecooked meals, unwind with Netflix movie nights and get a good night's sleep. You can even spot the river from the bedroom window, a perfect reminder of your central locale. Speaking of location, this is a pretty excellent one. At one end of the street is the Thames – just a two-minute walk away – while the other is Duke Street, where you'll find an array of local eateries, charming pubs and independent shops. All of Henley's delights are within strolling distance, so you'll be well-placed to enjoy boat rides on the water, alfresco pints in the sunshine and walks along the river path. But if you'd like to explore a little further afield, we suggest visiting the villages and hiking paths in the Chiltern Hills AONB, easily reachable by car.
