In prime position overlooking the Gulf of Heraklion, this contemporary villa is a knockout. Mornings begin slow and steady in the bright living space – we loved the serene coastal tones and beachy knick-knacks. After finishing a coffee at the long, oak dining table, slide open the glass doors and slink out onto the sweeping terrace, our favourite part of the home. This is where you’ll spend most of your days, sun worshipping on a lounger as the little ones let off some steam in the play area. Watch the waves roll in from the edge of the infinity pool before calling upon a private chef to take care of lunch for your whole brood. After a feast of fresh Cretan cuisine, take the ten-minute saunter into the charming villa of Plaka for waterside tavernas and a serene pebbled beach. From here, take a boat trip to the island of Spinalonga or continue on to laid-back Elounda to watch the sunset from a tranquil bay.
