This Victorian cottage in Pakefield recently renovated into a modern family-home, has all the right touches. Throughout the colourful interiors, you'll find coastal artwork, soft furnishings and period features – most notably the brickwork fireplace – that gives this place a timeless look. From the lick green kitchen to the bold wallpaper prints in the bedrooms, there's a vibrant yet cosy atmosphere that's perfectly in keeping with the home's local surroundings. The home features all of the usual mod-cons needed for a relaxing stay. Those keeping an eye on work will even find a dedicated office space under the stairs, but the real highlight of this home is the private outside space. Spend hot afternoons tanning on a sun lounger or mixing mojitos in the kitchen, all while looking forward to an alfresco lunch around the outdoor dining table. The courtyard is soaked in sun throughout the day, making it difficult for you to want to leave. Although, we'd recommend at least one afternoon spent on the sands of Pakefield Beach, a four-minute walk from your front door. Lined with colourful beach huts, traditional pubs, an art gallery and local theatre, this dog-friendly beach is the perfect spot for a... fun-filled day by the sea.

This home sleeps five, but there's capacity for an additional five guests on a double futon bed in the master bedroom, a single truckle bed in the third bedroom, and a double sofa bed in the living room – we think it's better suited to smaller groups though
You'll find shops, beaches and towns are easily reachable on foot with nearby bus routes taking you further afield to Southwold and Great Yarmouth
Due to the time it takes to heat up, the hot tub is not available for short stays

About The Broads
Straddling both Norfolk and Suffolk, The Broads now house over a quarter of the UK’s rarest animals and plants, with water voles, cuckoos and European eel all found among its habitats. Yet the winding rivers and broads haven’t always been here – they were created in the Middle Ages when peat workings were flooded. Spend your time in The Broads paddling along the navigable waterways, spotting the traditional windmills that...
