Los Angeles unfurls like a map before you up at this architecturally stunning home in the Upper Hollywood Hills. Every suite in the house has a breathtaking view of sparkling city lights after sunset from walls of glass. And then there’s the sunset itself – as the sky streaks pink and gold, head out to one of the many terraces for the daily spectacle. The infinity pool feels as though it’s hanging over the edge of the city and huge terraces lined with loungers and outdoor sofas face the glittering urban sprawl, perhaps best enjoyed by the warmth of a fire pit. Inside, it’s sleek, open-plan and feels as though the living area was designed for lavish entertainment. A suspended fireplace in the living room draws the eye if you’re not too busy gazing at the view from floor-to-ceiling windows. We love the architectural details throughout – the sleek Scandi breakfast bar, floating lightwood staircase and raw wood room dividers. Then there’s the ultimate entertainment area with a home-cinema set-up and a wall of wine bottles for a plush evening in. Up in the twisting streets of upper Hollywood Hills, you can enjoy exclusivity and quiet. But you’re just a ten-minute drive from the shops, restaurants and theatres of Hollywood and Sunset Boulevards.

About Laurel Canyon

Although it's often lumped together with the rest of Hollywood Hills, Laurel Canyon is a quiet and hip neighbourhood that has its own community and history that separates it from the rest of Los Angeles and Hollywood Hills. The hills and the slowly swaying eucalyptus trees seem to protect the peaceful neighbourhood’s residents from the bedlam of West Hollywood below. In the 1960s and 70s, this solitude and natural beauty...
